In this course, students are introduced to computer science fundamentals using the Scratch block-based programming environment. Scratch is universally recognized to be the best platform to get an introduction to coding in a fun and creative way.

* Augmented Reality - code your computer to have senses (sight, sound, touch) and interact with the real world to make cool projects * Artificial Intelligence using Scratch - program a Siri-like chatbot, code games like tic tac toe and challenge friends to win against your AI

YOUR OWN COOL GAMES

After completing this course, students will be able to design and program their own 1-player and 2-player games, including games with Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence. They will then be ready for more advanced learning for iOS/Android App Development or Python programming.

Course Duration

This course typically takes 3 to 4 months (with 1 class/week) to complete. This depends on the student's dedication to homework and their previous experience. All lessons are 1:1 following our “mastery-learning” approach, with the pace personalized for the student, and extra time taken to reinforce fundamental concepts as needed.

Pre-requisites

Some previous experience with Scratch or any other programming platform. Suggested for ages 9-12.
